HALF MARATHON 2010 3rd CT Half Marathon organized by CT Group of Institutions on 07th March, 2010 reached its destination successfully. Thousands throng in this race for charity. This race was inaugurated by Legendry Punjabi Singer and Actor Sh. Gurdas Maan, famous Punjabi Singer Manmohan Waris and Chairman CT Educational Society S. Charanjit Singh Channi,
by flagging off the race in CT campus shahpur at 6.30 A .M in the morning.
The objective of this race was to raise funds for the societies those work for the deprived members of society such as Pingalwara, Red Cross, Apahaj Ashram and other non government organization.
More than 8000 thousand runners from all over the India participated in this race. The runners were very excited to be a part of this race as it was for a noble cause. Gurdas Maan and Manmohan Waris with their songs motivated and encouraged runners to give their 100% in this race. Every runner seemed to be highly energetic and they all were getting boosted by watching each other taking part in the marathon race. The Marathon got attention of renowned industrialists, politicians, professionals, Doctors, Engineers, Employees of private and government organisation and all the categories of society.
Half Marathon started from CT Shahpur campus and finished at CT Maqsudan by covering various places in the city such as Dulhan Palace Urban Estate, Cool Road, Aggarwal Dhaba, Masand Chowk, Mission Chowk, Nakodar Chowk, Football Chowk, Workshop Chowk, DAV College, CT Group of Institutions Maqsudan.
Through out the route of Marathon there were number of counters for energy drinks, water, fruits and medical assistance for the runners. It looked that Jalandhar has become one big family and all are enjoying their contribution towards charity by running. People came out of their houses and applauded the courage and spirit of runners.
There were stalls of music and DJ;s on the way that formed the patriotic environment for runners and forced them to cheer for their mother land.
At the closing ceremony Punjabi Singers Sh. Nirmal Sidhu, Kulwinder Kaily, Teji Sandhu, Mangi Mahal Famous Punjabi comic actors, Bhutu Shah Ji and KakeShah Ji, contributed their presence for this race of charity and praised the winners. They entertained the whole participants with their popular Punjabi songs. Every participant was spell bound at the occasion.

The prizes were distributed by Sh. NK Arora former (Chief Secretary) Charanjit Singh Channi, Sh, Manbir Singh in the ground of CT Public School. In order to boost up the sportsman spirit free T – shirts were awarded to all the participants. It was a remarkable day fill with fun and jubilation. Runners were entertained at each destination with water, fruits, glucose also they were cheered by the students of the college. The participants were fully satisfied with the facilities like security, medical aid and other arrangements. Traffic police did a commendable task to control the traffic for the smooth running for the runners. District Medical department extended their full support on the entire marathon for first aid and para medical assistance. The Race for Mentally disabled students from Paryass, which was an attraction added meaning to the of 3rd CT Half Marathon, particularly for the people who can not run for long distance, started at 9.30AM in the morning at CT Public School Maqsudan ground. In which Punjabi Singers Sh. Nirmal Sidhu, Kulwinder Kaily, Teji sandhu, Mangi Mahal Famous Punjabi comic actors, Bhutu Shah Ji and KakeShah Ji, ran with the disabled kids of Prayas organization. There were lot of smiles and enthusiasm to be seen on the faces of mentally disabled. Thousands of crowd was cheering them up to increase their morale. All the participants of race for mentally disabled were awarded with prizes and certificates of appreciation. S. Charanjit Singh Channi.
